We have been funded to provide mental health and suicide prevention training to frontline legal professionals (and associated staff – admin, volunteers, students etc), including lawyers who provide pro bono assistance.

The workshop has been designed specifically for legal staff and the challenges they face.  We have now delivered this training to Legal Aid Offices and Community Legal Centres around WA in Albany, Bunbury, Freo, Perth, Port Hedland and Kununurra.  Feedback has been excellent with Regina Tatchley of Perth Legal Aid commenting:

The feedback received from our staff has been excellent. As many of our staff often have to deal with people with suicidal ideations this training was very relevant.  The presenters were very professional and the interaction with the attendees provided a comfortable and confidential atmosphere. The accompanying booklet that you take away is most informative, and an excellent tool to refer to later.  The attendees came away feeling more confident about dealing with these situations and knowing that their subsequent actions may save lives. ”

Funding ends in June 2014 – so if you are interested in us providing this training free of charge to anywhere in WA please get in touch for more details.
